From the Principal

Mrs. Stacy Rice

Greetings, my name is Stacy Rice. This is my sixth year serving as the Burke Town School principal.   I live here in West Burke with my husband of 18 years and two children. I have a 15 year-old son and an 13 year-old daughter.  My son is enjoying high school this fall and my daughter attends the Burke Town School.  I enjoy mountain biking on Kingdom Trails, skiing at Burke Mountain, reading, playing ice hockey for the NEK Women's Hockey Team, and hanging out with friends and family.  I have two labradoodles named Lucy and Buck and I enjoy raising my chickens.

Prior to becoming the Burke Town School principal, I taught middle and high school mathematics.  I am currently a licensed educator for 5th-12th mathematics and am a licensed principal for grades preK-12.  My undergraduate work was completed at the University of Maine at Farmington, majoring in secondary mathematics education.  I received my master's in education from the University of Maine at Orono.  I am also a Hall of Fame Inductee in both field hockey and softball at the University of Maine.

As the principal of the Burke Town School, I am committed to ensuring all students learn to: think, problem solve independently and with their peers, and maintain positive, healthy, well-rounded lives.  The Burke community and the Burke Town School staff are continuously supporting these commitments, educating all of our children, and upholding high expectations for all.  Please feel free to call, email, or stop into my office anytime.

Take Care, Stacy
